Railroad Elegance
These were not the cheap seats!. Even in the old days brass work, good lighting, finished and polished wood, and pluh seating would not have been for the average citizen. These were the kind of travel accommodations enjoyed by the wealthy. Of course, even the wealthy didn’t have air conditioning and if you opened the windows to cool off you would be soon be coated with a layer of soot and cinders from the burning coal that powered these locomotives.
It’s fun to pretend though.
